Jason Forbes

Jason Forbes is an actor, writer, and award-winning comedian. Starting out as a writer-performer, Jason won the London SketchFest Award for ‘Best New Act’ and in 2015 was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer’ at the prestigious Edinburgh Comedy Awards for his critically-acclaimed comedy show, Daphne Do Edinburgh, which he co-wrote and starred in as part of sketch comedy trio, ‘Daphne’ (Jason Forbes, George Fouracres, and Phil Wang). He then became a co-creator, writer and star of BBC Radio 4’s Daphne Sounds Expensive, a radio adaptation of his award-winning stage shows. Upon its release, Daphne Sounds Expensive was nominated for ‘Best Radio Sketch Show’ by the British Comedy Guide, and in 2017 the Radio Times magazine named him as one of the 14 top talents to watch out for. Jason can next be heard on James Acaster’s podcast SPRINGLEAF.

His film roles include HORRIBLE HISTORIES: THE MOVIE, and BORG MCENROE alongside Sverrir Gudnason and Shia LaBeouf, where Jason portrays American World No. 1 tennis player Arthur Ashe. Upcoming Jason will play Alexei Nachevko in Paramount+’s adaptation of the eponymous novel A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Ewan McGregor. In addition to appearing in Netflix’s upcoming sci-fi thriller THREE BODY PROBLEM, from the creators of Game of Thrones, and in Disney+’s historical drama RENEGADE NELL, he will also appear as Lord Scrope, a regular in Amazon’s forthcoming comedy-fantasy, MY LADY JANE.

Jason has narrated several audiobooks and documentaries, and is a keen voice actor and impressionist. In 2023 he played Chris Rock in the UK-made TV show DEEP FAKE NEIGHBOUR WARS (ITVX), the world’s first ever impressions show to use deep-fake face-replacement technology.

He is a veteran performer playing multiple characters in the award-winning audio-drama spinoff of DOCTOR WHO, produced by Big Finish, and will be the voice of several more characters in the next season of Rowan Atkinson’s MR BEAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES.
